SoftCom Corporate Blog
Greetings,
I’m very excited to make our first corporate blog post. This is a way for me to communicate directly with SoftCom customers without the usual marketing polish and, unlike traditional mediums like the newsletter, this message will not end up in a SPAM folder.
Blogging is a medium we believe in, promote and provision and it is my hope that this new communication channel will facilitate more open dialogue with our customers.
There will be blogs coming from other SoftCom departments, dealing with technical and marketing updates. However this blog will be used to communicate our company’s vision and roadmap.
I think the best starting point for this blog is to explain the thinking behind the Softcom “Smiley face”.
Our logo is a simple, smiley face that appears with each of our brands. This isn’t a gimmick hatched by marketing over cocktails; it’s actually the embodiment of our core values. It represents simplicity in service delivery and customer satisfaction. I want to emphasize “simplicity” as it relates to the user experience and not the service or application being offered.
Quite the opposite, the applications we offer are getting more and more sophisticated and as we continue to learn how our customer’s interact with our products - through a PC or mobile devices - we will continue to refine our delivery, management interfaces and support accordingly. We have yet to accomplish these goals. We know our system can be improved and that is exactly what we will continue to work on, as we have for almost 10 years. But those are just words, here are some actions:
- We are in the process of replacing our entire Customer Support System to provide faster and more accurate responses
- We introduced call-back telephone support for premium products (expect to see more)
- We launched an Affiliate program so our customers can make money (cash) referring our products
- We recently introduced a DNS Management interface so our customers have more direct control of their domains
- Our free, customizable web mail form allows our customers to provide a web mail interface under their own brand
Of course many of our customers are small businesses and for them, customer satisfaction is about having the tools needed to run a successful business. If your business fails, so does ours. To that end we are working to find the best services to help your business succeed.
Next week I’ll provide some specific examples about what we are doing to back this statement up.
Sincerely,
John Carthy
